Tanya Bentham will talk about embroidery from the Middle Ages. Tanya is an expert in this field, and her speciality is Opus Anglicanum – a unique style of needlework that flourished in England during the 12th and 13th centuries.

Tanya will share her knowledge of the materials used in Opus Anglicanum, the techniques involved, and the subjects created using this beautiful art form. From religious scenes to mythological figures and intricate floral designs, Opus Anglicanum was used to create a wide range of stunning pieces that still inspire awe today.

Tanya is renowned for her skill and expertise in the field of medieval embroidery, and she regularly puts on exhibitions and workshops to share her knowledge with others. She has presented at prestigious events such as the University of Leeds’ International Medieval Congress and at Oxford’s Ashmolean Museum, making this an opportunity not to be missed for anyone interested in Medieval art and craftsmanship.
