Marie Curie in Ilkley
Did you know Marie Curie care for ANYONE with a terminal illness, not just cancer. The charity cares for people in their own homes or in their hospices, of which there are 9 in the UK, including the one in Bradford which cares for people from all over Bradford and Ilkley.
Did you know there was a Marie Curie Ilkley Fundraising Group? The group organises events in and around Ilkley as well as looking after all the collecting tins in shops and pubs etc, organise volunteers to help at supermarket and street collections for Marie Curie and help to promote the charity around Ilkley.
Did you know the group is looking for new members to help them raise funds for the Marie Curie Nurses looking after patients in the Ilkley area in their own homes as well as supporting their families. They also raise funds for the Bradford Hospice which looks after Ilkley people in the day therapy unit and the in-patient unit. Could you spare a couple of hours once a month to meet up and plan things with the group. One specific role the group is looking for is a secretary as well as other members to organise events, collections etc. it's a GREAT way to make new firneds whilst doing something good for charity working locally.
